About the Role:
Green & Cohen PC is seeking a skilled Real Estate/Landlord & Tenant Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in New York, NY. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse caseload in one of the most active real estate markets in the world. Responsibilities:
Represent landlords and/or tenants in Housing Court proceedings, including eviction and non-payment cases
Draft, review, and negotiate leases, purchase agreements, and other real estate contracts
Handle residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to closing
Advise clients on landlord-tenant disputes, rent stabilization, and rent control matters
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, motions, and pleadings
Manage a caseload independently while maintaining clear client communication
Stay current on New York real estate law, housing regulations, and court procedures
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active New York State Bar admission in good standing
1–5 years of experience in real estate law, landlord-tenant law, or related practice area
Familiarity with New York City Housing Court procedures and practices
Strong drafting, negotiation, and litigation skills
Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
