Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal with 5–10 years of experience in both commercial and residential real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background gained from working in a law firm or title insurance company and will be comfortable handling all aspects of transactional work. This is a full-time, on-site position based in New York City, offering the opportunity to work in a collaborative and professional environment with an outstanding compensation package.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys in all stages of commercial and residential real estate transactions, from contract to closing.
- Review, draft, and prepare closing documents, contracts, leases, financing documents, and title commitments.
- Conduct title and survey reviews, identify issues, and coordinate resolution with attorneys, clients, and title companies.
- Manage due diligence processes, including preparation and organization of checklists, critical dates, and closing binders.
- Coordinate and facilitate closings, ensuring accuracy of all documentation and compliance with deadlines.
- Maintain communication with clients, lenders, brokers, and other stakeholders throughout the transaction process.
- Prepare and file UCC financing statements and related documents.
- Conduct legal research related to real estate law, zoning, and property matters as needed.
- Manage and maintain case files, ensuring organization and timely updates.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in real estate transactional work (commercial and residential).
- Background from a law firm or title insurance company required.
- Strong understanding of New York real estate laws, regulations, and practices.
- Proficiency in title and survey review, due diligence, and closing procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Flexible, professional, and a strong team player.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with real estate management software a plus.
