We are looking for an experienced Cost Accountant to work with both our plant managers as well as the accounting/finance team and upper management to help us achieve maximum efficiency, ensure proper cost recording and identify expense saving opportunities. Responsibilities

• Collecting and analyzing data in relation to the company’s operational costs
• Setting standard costs of manufactured goods
• Developing and analyzing cost standards
• Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis
• Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
• Performing account reconciliations
• Preparing audit reports and present findings to management
• Recommend changes to the company’s processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
• Advise upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
• Supporting other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure

Qualifications and Skills

• Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• 5+ years of work experience as a cost accountant, analyst, or other relevant role in a manufacturing company.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
• Familiarity with accounting software programs, such as QuickBooks
• Computer literacy skills, especially with MS Excel and basic data entry and computation
• Strong financial analytical skills with a keen sense of organization and detail
• Proven time management skills and ability to work under strict deadlines
• Respect for confidentiality of information laws and local ethics
• Expertise in activity-based costing for fixed and variable costs in relation to the overall direct cost of a line of products
• Effective communication, including writing, speaking and active listening.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or another related field.
