Job Title: Forklift Operator
Department: Service/Operations
Reports to: Marina Manager
The Marina Forklift Operator is responsible for safely launching and retrieving boats from dry stack storage to and from the water, moving boats and trailers throughout the marina using forklifts and tractors, and staging boats for service technicians. This position maintains an organized marina yard and storage areas, performs general maintenance of boat storage slips, and assist with daily marina operations. The position requires weekend availability and strong commitment to safe equipment and boat handling.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safely launch and retrieve boats to and from the water and dry storage
Operate forklifts, tractors, and other equipment to safely move boats and trailers throughout the marina and storage yard
Stage boats for service for service technicians and coordinate boat movements to support efficient service operations
Perform daily forklift inspections and maintain inspection and maintenance records
Monitor equipment maintenance schedules and ensure required service is completed timely
Maintain accurate records of boat locations, movements, and storage assignments using Speedy Dock
Perform general maintenance and upkeep of boat storage slips and surrounding areas
Assist customers with boat retrievals, launches, and other marina needs while providing professional customer service
Follow all safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines when operating equipment and handling boats
Report equipment issues, damage, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to management promptly
Assist with general marina operations and other duties as assigned
Maintain weekend availability to support marina operations and customer needs

Work environment: Work occurs in indoor and outdoor setting, often in variable weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, and humidity. The noise level is typically moderate to loud. Exposure to mechanical fluids, oils, and cleaning products is common. The role involves working near and around water, docks and marine equipment. Occasional travel between storage yards or customer sites is required.
Physical demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, kneel, climb, lift and carry heavy loads. Must be able to maneuver safely on and around vessels, trailers and uneven surfaces. Requires hand-eye coordination for operating equipment and machinery. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. Safety awareness, balance and stamina are essential.
