Position: Finance Internship

Location: Dallas, TX

Classification: Non-Exempt

Reports to:  Manager

Compensation: $12-$13 hourly depending on education

Benefits: None

Hours: 20-29 hours per week

Travel: None

Essential Functions

·         Payment processing including applying daily customer checks, Western Union, ACH, Speedpay, and bankruptcy checks into a mortgage loan servicing system

·         Reconciliation of payment processing, reports and scanning deposits to the bank

·         Providing customer service to internal employees, external borrowers and title companies

·         Responsible for learning how to generate, balance & send, and file reports using Microsoft Excel and Access

Qualifications and Skills

·         Must be enrolled in 12+ hours of undergraduate coursework or enrolled in 9+ hours of graduate program with a 3.0 GPA or higher required

·         Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Business or Accounting

·         Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

·         Must be able to work independently; self-motivated

·         Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing

·         Basic knowledge of accounting principles

·         Strong organizational and communication skills

·         Ability to achieve objectives with minimal supervision

·         Detail-oriented with initiative and desire to work in a quality environment

·         Ability to work as a team member; effectively sharing ideas, skills and knowledge

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including electronic keyboard, mouse and telephone.

While performing duties of this job, he/she may be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time as well as perform repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard.
