    SUMMARY

    The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) is responsible for performing HR-related duties in a professional manner and works closely with the HR Director in supporting designated offices. The HRG carries out daily responsibilities that include recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, policy implementation, performance management and employment law compliance.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. 
    • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Update and maintain timekeeping system as needed to ensure timely payroll processing; partner with managers to ensure employee timecards are accurate.
    • Maintains human resources records including new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases, etc.
    • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. 
    • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Advanced computer and Microsoft Office skills, including HRIS applications
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.  
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to work well under pressure
    • Excellent verbal and written communicate skills
    • Detail oriented with the ability to work independently and within deadlines
    • Self-motivated team player with strong organizational skills
    • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
    • 2-4 years’ experience in Human Resources field preferred
    • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification a plus.
    • Financial services, mortgage and Call Center HR exp. preferred

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including electronic keyboard, mouse and telephone.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 

    While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk on the phone.  He/she may be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time as well as perform repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard.

    This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. 

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    This is a full-time position.  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm; extended work hours may be required as job duties demand.
