Hello, Nannies! We're looking for part-time after-school care in the Matthews Beach/Sand Point area of Seattle for our 5-year-old son, beginning in January and continuing through the end of the school year in June. About us: Dashiell is a charming, energetic, affectionate kid who is in kindergarten at View Ridge Elementary. He loves imaginative play, books, and building with Legos and Magnatiles, and will regale you with stories of dragons, pirates, and volcanoes. He has ADHD, which comes with lots of energy and big feelings. We live walking distance to Matthews Beach and the Burke Gilman bike path, and a short drive from Magnuson, so there are lots of options for bike rides, walks, and other outdoor play, and we have a zoo membership for longer outings. Mom and Dad both work in the video game industry; Rebekah in public relations and Jesse in visual effects. We're both currently working full-time from home, but expect to return to our respective offices part-time this spring. We have home offices and will be out of your way. We are all fully vaccinated and abide by Covid guidelines, and expect our caregiver to do the same. About you: A patient, nurturing caregiver with a sense of humor who can be both firm and flexible. You're skilled in positive discipline, with an emphasis on everyday kindness and empathy. You'll pick Dashiell up from school, using your car or ours, and spend the afternoon playing, helping him with his (very minimal) homework, and accompanying him to any after-school activities (e.g. swim or karate lessons). You should be comfortable with pets, as we have an exuberant Australian shepherd and a very affectionate cat. 15 guaranteed hours/week, with occasional options for additional hours Monday, 2-5 Tuesday, 2-5 Wednesday, 1-5 Thursday, 2-5 Friday, 2-4 Pay: $20-24/hour DOE plus mileage Requirements: At least 2 years' experience with professional childcare Can provide 2 positive references Valid driver's license/clean driving record Current on vaccinations, including COVID Up-to-date on CPR Not a smoker Experience with neurodiverse kids a plus
