Job Summary:

The CPC Medical Physician Biller will play a crucial part in the revenue cycle by utilizing Epic Systems software for professional billing.

Essential Job Functions:

· Utilize the Epic Systems software to accurately code and bill professional healthcare services.

· Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations, including CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes.

· Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims using Epic Systems for professional billing.

· Monitor and track the status of submitted claims and address any rejections or denials promptly.

· Analyze reimbursement trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

· Work collaboratively with the billing team to optimize reimbursement and minimize claim discrepancies.

· Conduct follow-up on outstanding claims, working with payers to resolve issues and expedite payment.

· Investigate and appeal denied claims, ensuring a thorough understanding of payer policies and guidelines.

· Maintain detailed and organized records of billing activities within the Epic system.

· Generate regular reports on billing performance, claim status, and reimbursement metrics.

· Stay updated on changes in healthcare billing regulations and compliance requirements.

· Ensure adherence to billing and coding policies and procedures.

· Adheres to all company and departmental policy and procedures.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· In-depth knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.

· Familiarity with insurance verification, authorization, and claim submission processes.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in billing processes.

· Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team.

· Preferred Skills:

· Previous experience working with multiple healthcare payers.

· Knowledge of revenue cycle management processes.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or related field is a plus.

Certified Professional Coder certification through AAPC or similar certification

Proven experience as a biller using Epic Systems for professional billing.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
