    Position Summary:

    You think you have what it takes to creatively tackle healthcare processes and patient experience? We are looking for a HIM Specialist to act as a liaison between our teams, government entities, and patients to secure funding for healthcare services rendered at the hospital.

    Key Accountabilities:

    Qualify incoming payment information and gather outstanding information required for account adjudication.

    Maintain case load, following up on specified government assistance programs.

    Respond to daily questions and concerns raised by management in a timely and responsible manner.

    Adheres to and supports organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Skills/Abilities/Experience & Qualifications:

    · Working knowledge of Medicaid programs and hospital systems.

    · An understanding of HIPAA and HITECH patient confidentiality laws to protect the patient, client, and Invicta Health Solutions

    · Demonstrates communication, problem solving and case management skills, and the ability to act/decide accordingly.

    · Proficient with technology such as phone systems, computers, Microsoft software applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

    · Ability to collect, synthesize and research complex or diverse information from hospital systems.

    · High School Diploma (equivalent)

    Preferred experience with:

    · Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, & Disability policies and procedures

    · Strong knowledge of major hospital systems

    Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

    Requires prolonged sitting, standing, or walking some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 15 pounds occasionally. Work may be performed inside the hospital or remote site. Work may be stressful at times. Must be an effective communicator with strong problem resolution abilities. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations. Travel to other Invicta Health Solutions Division offices and/or client facilities may be required.

    OSHA Category:

    If working in a hospital setting the normal work routine may involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). The candidate selected for this position will not be required to conduct any medical care if they are working in a hospital or remote setting.
