Job Overview:
We are seeking a committed warehouse receiving team lead to assist the receiving supervisor with day-to-day operations in receiving by having a lead role over assigned and delegated work tasks. This position requires knowledge of warehouse procedures and operations with a commitment to lead by example in company culture and core values as well as exemplify teamwork and leadership qualities through everyday work tasks.
Job Details:
This is a lead role that reports directly to the receiving supervisor.
This is a full-time position based on completion of a trial period.
Typical work week is Monday to Friday 7:00am – 4:30pm. Occasional work Saturdays may be required.
This is an hourly position.
No travel is expected for this position.
Responsibilities:
Act as lead point of contact for the receiving department on days when the receiving supervisor is absent.
Commit to learning any new receiving procedures, processes, or software as needed in the team lead role.
Assist with the training and coaching of newly hired warehouse associates assigned to the receiving department.
Assist with the receiving, processing and verifying of inbound inventory.
Communicate delegated tasks effectively within the receiving department
Assist receiving associates with day-to-day tasks
Operate box trucks, yard dogs, clamp trucks, scissor lifts as needed to assist with daily tasks assigned by the receiving supervisor and/or warehouse manager
Load and unload trucks using a forklift
Report any issues or problems related to employees, procedures, or equipment to the receiving supervisor and/or warehouse manager.
Touch base with receiving associates throughout the week to ensure receiving schedules are on time and discuss any problems or needs with the receiving supervisor.
Coordinate effectively with other department employees, leads, or managers.
Assist in planning and carrying out cleaning and organizing of warehouses.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the receiving supervisor and warehouse manager.
Competencies:
Forklift – Primary tool for unloading/loading merchandise, staging merchandise, and maintaining warehouse inventory.
RF Scanner – Primary tool for receiving, picking, or moving inventory is done with a RF Scanner.
Leadership – must be able to lead and coach others effectively.
Communication/Teamwork – must be a team player with good communication skills.
Work Ethic – must be hard working with an eagerness to learn.
Attention to Detail – must be able to process inventory in an accurate and efficient manner.
Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
May require prolonged sitting, driving, forklift vibration
Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds or more for the duration of the workday
