Job Summary Our fast growing law firm, Baker Legal Group, LLC, is seeking a an organized, professional, and friendly front desk receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate would have excellent phone etiquette, be detail oriented, have the ability to multitask in a fast paced office environment, exhibit a professional demeanor as the first contact for callers and walk in clients for the firm, and exhibit the empathy required in the practice of family and estate law. While the ideal candidate would have some experience working for a law firm, in customer service, or an office environment, it is not a mandatory requirement as training will be provided to the right candidate.
The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, in our office in Califon, New Jersey. Strong writing and grammatical skills required, as well as the ability to use Microsoft Word, Adobe, Google Drive, and Excel required. Experience with the legal case management software MyCase and the New Jersey Courts online platforms E-Courts and JEDS a plus. Our law firm has grown exponentially since its founding in 2020 and there is room for advancement for the right candidate. NO RECRUITERS PLEASE.

Responsibilities
Answer telephone and engage in telephone communication with clients, court staff and other offices
Prepare legal documents, correspondence and discovery requests
Handle the mail physical mail
Maintain and organize physical files
Maintain and organize some digital files
Prepare emails and correspondence
Maintain office neat and organized
Order and maintain all office supplies
Assist with the preparation and assembly of documents to be filed with the court
Go to post office and courier service drop locations as/when needed.
File/retrieve documents at/from county court or clerks offices as/when needed
Maintain all bar association and other marketing or legal practice memberships current for all lawyers
Notarize signatures if/as needed (test costs to be paid by the law firm)
Conduct some personal errands for the law firm owner, such as picking up dry cleaning and prescriptions or making personal appointments for the law firm owner
Qualifications
One or more years of customer service experience is preferred
Previous experience as a receptionist or in a law firm is preferred
Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Familiar with computers and software listed above
Excellent multi-tasking skills
Excellent communication skills, including written communication skills
