We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service and support to pet owners while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and their pets.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the clinic.

Schedule appointments, manage the calendar, and confirm upcoming visits.

Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.

Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.

Process payments and manage billing inquiries efficiently.

Assist veterinary staff with patient intake and preparation for examinations or treatments.

Provide information on pet care, including nutrition, grooming, and general health tips.

Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming for clients and their pets.

Skills

Strong understanding of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with staff and clients.

Experience in animal handling, including dog handling, equine care, or kennel management preferred.

Knowledge of animal husbandry practices to provide accurate information to pet owners.

Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols is a plus.

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations compassionately.

Proficient in multitasking while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting while also being self-motivated.

Experience in pet grooming or animal care will be considered an asset.
