    Who We Are

    Fort Worth STEAM Academy (FWSA) is launching a tuition-free public charter middle school in East Fort Worth, opening August 2026. Our mission is to prepare every student for success in high school, college, and career through a rigorous STEAM-focused education, a joyful culture of high expectations, and strong community partnerships.     Summary

    The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for families, students, staff, and visitors—ensuring front office operations are welcoming, accurate, and secure so instructional time is protected. This role manages visitor entry, supports attendance and records processes, and assists with enrollment and family communication systems.

    Reports to: Dean of Operations
    Directly Manages: None
    Location: Fort Worth, TX (on-site)

    Compensation: Hourly (non-exempt; eligible for overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act)
    Schedule: Full-time, school calendar; some evenings/weekends during recruitment season
    Anticipated Start Date: March 2026

    Key Responsibilities

    Front Office Operations & Visitor Management

    • Greet and assist all visitors promptly and professionally; maintain a welcoming and organized front office environment.

    • Answer and route phone calls and messages accurately and efficiently.

    • Operate visitor management systems: verify identification, issue badges, maintain logs, and follow campus safety procedures.

    • Manage mail, deliveries, and front office supplies; ensure equipment (copier, phone, etc.) is operational.

    Attendance & Records Support

    • Support daily attendance processes, including absence follow-up and documentation.

    • Issue and track tardy and early dismissal records in coordination with campus systems.

    • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely data entry aligned with campus and PEIMS requirements.

    Enrollment & Family Onboarding

    • Support prospective and enrolling families with applications, registration documents, and next steps.

    • Verify completeness of enrollment documentation (e.g., residency, immunizations, prior records).

    • Maintain accurate records of family communication and enrollment progress.

    Family Service & Communication

    • Provide responsive, professional service to families in person and via phone/email.

    • Support bilingual communication when applicable (Spanish/English preferred).

    • Respond to inquiries within established timelines and escalate concerns appropriately.

    Operational Support & Campus Systems

    • Protect instructional time by managing interruptions and prioritizing urgent needs.

    • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information in accordance with FERPA.

    • Support campus-wide systems and procedures as directed by school leadership.

    Minimum & Preferred Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • 1–2+ years of administrative, front office, or customer service experience (school setting preferred).

    • Strong communication skills with professional phone and in-person etiquette.

    • Proficiency with Google Workspace and standard office technology; ability to learn school-based systems (SIS, CRM, visitor management tools).

    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

    • Commitment to FWSA's mission and values.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in a Texas public or charter school setting.

    • Familiarity with PEIMS, student information systems, or attendance systems.

    • Bilingual Spanish/English.

    Certifications/Licensure

    • Required: DPS fingerprint clearance in accordance with Texas Education Code §22.0835

    Additional Information

    This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable laws.

    Employment with Fort Worth STEAM Academy is at-will , meaning either the employee or the organization may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause or notice, in accordance with Texas law.
