  • Responsibilities

    York Employment is seeking a professional and customer-focused Front Desk Receptionist to manage incoming calls, greet visitors, and support general office operations for one of our premier clients. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Operate a multi-line phone system, answer incoming calls, determine caller needs, and direct calls appropriately.

    • Retrieve and route voicemail messages; take and deliver accurate messages when necessary.

    • Greet and check in visitors, verify purpose of visit, issue badges as needed, and notify appropriate personnel.

    • Provide basic company information such as directions and general inquiries.

    • Maintain visitor logs and update the announcement board for guest arrivals.

    • Manage applicant flow logs and forward applications to the HR Department.

    • Assist with general administrative tasks and prioritize projects based on deadlines.

    • Ensure the lobby and front office area remain clean, contacting appropriate personnel when needed.

    • Unlock and lock the front entrance at the start and end of business hours.

    • Perform additional clerical duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    • 3–6 months of receptionist, customer service, or administrative experience preferred.

    • Certificate from a college or technical program is a plus.

    • Strong verbal communication skills and a professional, customer-friendly attitude.

    • Ability to read and write basic correspondence and follow detailed instructions.

    • Basic math skills and comfort using office software, including word processing programs.

    • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow company policies and procedures.

    Physical & Work Environment Requirements

    • Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear; occasional standing and walking.

    • Must be able to lift or move up to 10 lbs.

    • Moderate noise level typical of an office environment.

    Salary info:

    $19 - $20 / hr
