Job Location: Culpeper, VA (on-site)
Reports to: Executive Director
Hourly: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 to 6:00
About the Position
We are seeking a receptionist and operations associate to support the executive director, families, and our team members in ensuring the smooth and consistent operations at our Culpeper location where we serve children ages six weeks through five years. The successful candidate will report directly to the executive director.
The position covers a broad range of responsibilities including greeting all visitors, supporting families in transitioning their children to and from care, enrolling new families, ensuring all necessary enrollment forms are completed, maintaining records to ensure compliance with child care licensing and Brynmor’s expectations, receiving inbound phone calls, tracking medication storage, supplies and purchases and providing administrative support for the executive director in the overall operations of the center.
The ideal candidate is a transparent and collaborative partner willing to innovate and experiment to support the evolving practice of high-quality early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome families as they are transitioning their children to and from care. Ensure families are supported through Brightwheel child care management system in enrollment, billing and family support.
- Answer, route and return inbound calls and voicemails.
- Ensure all aspects of the family experience as they inquire about availability, enroll their children, complete paperwork and tour through the program.
- Establish and maintain strong, proactive relationships and communications with Brynmor families and team members.
- Ensure all medications are properly logged in, stored, administered and returned to families.
- Support the executive director in administrative functions to ensure Brynmor meets all state licensing, health and safety requirements and NAEYC criteria.
- Support the executive director in ensuring that the center is properly equipped with supplies at all times.
- Coordinate logistics for special events and professional development.
- Exemplify the highest level of business and personal integrity, is mission driven and has a team orientation at all times.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to resolve problematic situations quickly with a good eye for detail.

Critical Competencies for Success
Qualifications:
- Clear, proactive oral and written communicator.
- Minimum high school diploma. Associate degree preferred.
- Proven work experience in a similar role.
- Excellent time management, prioritization and multitasking skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in multiple languages is desirable.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, sit on floor, kneel, bend, and carry young children.
