We are seeking a weekends only compassionate and dedicated Recovery Support Specialist to
join our team at our women’s sober house. The Recovery Support Specialist will play a crucial
role in assisting individuals recovering from substance use disorders and/or mental health
challenges. The ideal candidate will provide guidance, encouragement, and practical support to
clients as they navigate their journey towards recovery. Hours: every Sat & Sun 8am -4pm.
Must have a car.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to clients in recovery, fostering a supportive and non-judgmental
environment.
- Administer drug screenings.
- Keep detailed confidential log notes.
- Collaborate with clients to set achievable recovery goals.
- Intervene during crises or emergencies to provide immediate support and facilitate
appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes.
- Empower clients to develop life skills, cope with triggers, and build resilience in their
recovery journey.
- Encourage and model self-care practices among clients, emphasizing the importance of
physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
- Transport clients in personal vehicle when necessary. (must have a car)
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
● Minimum of 2 years of continuous sobriety.
● Previous experience in addiction recovery support, mental health counseling, or related
fields preferred.
● Understanding of recovery principles, trauma-informed care, and motivational
interviewing.
● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
● Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
● Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting clients.
● Valid drivers license and vehicle.
