    REPORTS TO: Clinical Supervisor

    FLSA DESIGNATION (Salary): Full-time, Exempt

    Pay: Negotiable $18-$21 per hour

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Recovery Syndicate is an outpatient treatment center (OTC) for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) located in Chandler, AZ.

    The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct patient care and documenting activities in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system under the supervision of the Clinical Director and/or Chief Clinical Officer. The BHT is tasked with ensuring a safe and efficient working and treatment environment in line with company policies, procedures, and best practices. Effective communication with the treatment team is crucial to deliver safe, ethical, and high-quality care to all clients.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    Conduct initial intakes, including biopsychosocial assessments, screening tools, consents, and other required documents as per admission guidelines and document in KIPU.

    Provide direct support services, such as leading group lectures on 12-step recovery, promoting health and wellness, and managing crises and document participation and progress in progress notes.

    Check vital signs such as temperature and heart rate as needed.

    Secure clients' personal cell phones at the start of each treatment session.

    Facilitate psychoeducational groups/lectures to assess patients' presenting problems, determine their needs, and develop appropriate treatment plan goals.

    Communicate with clients about the ongoing services offered and the benefits of remaining engaged in treatment.

    Protect all client medical records and personal information in compliance with HIPAA rules and guidelines.

    Provide emotional support to patients, maintain professionalism, and use good interpersonal skills to defuse volatile situations.

    Provide transportation for clients as needed.

    Prepare DAP progress notes, event notifications, and other documentation regarding patients in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

    Maintain a safe environment for treatment per ADHS and Joint Commission standards by completing daily EOC checklists of staff duties such as sanitization, stocking, and inventory.

    Work effectively and efficiently with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure adherence to clients' treatment plans.

    Provide direct support to medical and clinical staff for patients in the facility or on supervised trips.

    Perform other tasks as assigned.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Certification, or 2 years previous experience working as a BHT

    Previous experience facilitating groups.

    Experience working with commercial insurance and cash pay clients.

    Current Arizona driver's license.

    Clean driving record with no accidents.

    Experience and/or ability to drive a large 15-passenger van.

    KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND ATTITUDES REQUIRED:

    Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel.

    Knowledge of EMR systems (KIPU).

    Familiarity with 12-step programs and experience with substance abuse patients.

    Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to complete assigned projects.

    Excellent interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, gaining cooperation, and resolving conflicts.

    Ability to respond to fire, disaster, hazard, and medical emergencies.

    Ability to pass background checks required by Recovery Syndicate, LLC, and/or possess a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
