Reports To: Executive Director

FSA designation: Full Time, Exempt

Supervision Over: Clinical Team, Venders, and Support Staff

Summary:

The Clinical Director (CD) acts as the agency's administrator in accordance with the Arizona Department of Health Services Licensing regulations. The CD ensures compliance with these regulations and the standards set by the Joint Commission. The role involves setting and maintaining the clinical direction in alignment with the agency's mission and vision. The CD is responsible for overseeing all clinical services, quality assurance, and ensuring high-quality care and outcomes, treatment, and safe operations. This position may also involve supervising agency directors, representing the agency at various events, and engaging in marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

· Fulfill all record requests accurately.

· Maintain ethical and high-quality service delivery with positive treatment outcomes.

· Collaborate with ownership and leadership teams on treatment program delivery.

· Supervise all clinicians and direct care staff.

· Review daily and signoff on clinical notes.

· Provide client interventions and de-escalations during clinical hours.

· Manage client Utilization Reviews and documentation.

· Ensure timely completion and submission of reports required by various agencies.

· Uphold compliance with agency policies, procedures, and National Accreditation Standards.

· Administer functions as specified by governing authorities, adhering to relevant standards and regulations.

· Ensure agency compliance with all laws, regulations, ethical standards, and licenses.

· Promote adherence to HIPAA guidelines among all staff.

· Implement crisis and emergency policies effectively.

· Report incidents to AZDHS and enforce agency policies.

· Participate in weekly case review and monthly QMPI meetings.

Qualifications:

· Independent licensure in Arizona (LPC, LISAC, LCSW, LMFT).

· Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (psychology, counseling, social work, etc.).

· Four years of management experience in behavioral health or social services.

· Four years of supervisory experience in counseling or social/human services.

· Registered as a clinical supervisor.

· Extensive experience in staff supervision, training, and managerial principles.

· In-depth knowledge of ADHS regulations, JC Behavioral Health Standards, and clinical service requirements.

· Valid driver’s license and appropriate automobile insurance.

Skills and Attitudes:

· Knowledge of insurance/payor requirements and AHCCCS.

· Team-oriented with a commitment to education and leadership.

· Proficient in strategic and operational planning, financial management, licensing regulations, human resources, marketing, and public relations.

· Adherence to professional ethical codes.

· Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

· Competence in using software for word processing, email, internet research, and spreadsheets.

· Ability to pass criminal background checks.

Physical Demands:

The position requires walking, bending, standing, stair climbing, speaking and reading English, hearing, telephone use, driving, and operating office equipment. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
