The Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Advisor (HRA) works in partnership with other Human Resources Centre of Excellence teams and provides professional human resources services and advice to store management in areas including but not limited to talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, employee relations, employee engagement, learning and development, and performance management. The job incumbent functions as a change agent, communicating proactively between our Human Resources Centre of Excellence, store management, and employees, and delivering value-added services to the Company.
Major Responsibilities:
· Working closely with the Talent Acquisition team, HRA participates in and administer major activities of the full talent acquisition cycle for the designated stores, from manpower needs to new employee on-boarding and orientation.
· Working closely with the Employee Relations team, HRA organizes/hosts periodic staff forums and maintain communication amongst all stakeholders, support employee disciplinary and grievance case handling, deal with workplace health and safety issues including workplace inspection, injury reporting, claim management and return-to-work, conduct exit interviews, etc.
· Working closely with the Compensation & Benefits team, HRA supports the administration of various employee benefits plans/programs, employee performance review, annual salary review, employee attendance and leave, and provides/verifies data required for payroll processing.
· Keep track of and follow up on employee probation, expiration of contract and work permit, employee movements including transfer, promotion/demotion, pay change, etc.
· Answer employee inquiries relevant to human resources related issues; support the filing of benefits claims, requests W-2 form, employment certification, etc.
· Maintain proper filing of human resources related documents; support employees and store management in using the human resources system for staff management.
· Ensure human resources policies are properly understood and adhered to; provide appropriate guidance and interpretation as and when required; contribute to the improvement of employee and management relationship; help building employee morale.
· Perform any other duties as assigned; participate and support human resources projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:
· A Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, or related disciplines; a human resources designation is an asset
· 3-5 years' human resources generalist experience, preferably in the retail industry
· Working knowledge in multiple human resources disciplines, such as talent acquisition, compensation & benefits, employee relations, diversity & culture, performance management, etc.; familiar with relevant state employment laws
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English; knowledge of Chinese is an asset
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to work independently and under minimum supervision
· Good office/computer skills in processing documents and filing
Shifts & Travel:
· 5 days' work week (Monday to Friday)
· Long hours and/or weekend work required occasionally
· Local travelling between designated stores and headquarter required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $69,000.00 per year
