    Job Description

    Under minimum supervision of the Human Resources Director, the Benefits Analyst administers all group health and welfare benefits services for AMP and its parent, Anesthesia Service Medical Group, Inc. (“ASMG”). Duties include but are not limited to enrollment of new participants, investigation and resolution of issues regarding plan coverage or claims, coordination of annual benefits renewal and open enrollment process, staffing of ASMG’s Insurance Committee, backup support to or coverage for the Retirement Plan Administrator as needed, and other duties as assigned. Essential Functions Facilitates administration of employee welfare plans in conjunction with insurance brokers and individual plan carriers Participates on and advises ASMG Insurance Committee Prepares materials and communication for annual open enrollment sessions Facilitates employee open enrollment sessions and submits enrollment data to plan carriers/processes enrollment through plan carrier websites Serves as primary point of contact for physician and staff inquiries regarding benefits plans Coordinates payment of benefits plan provider bills Prepares and submits all necessary tax documents, audit reports and government filings Research health and welfare plan options, additions and changes and makes recommendations to Human Resources Director Works with Human Resources Director to develop proposals for additional health and welfare plans as well as existing plan enhancements and additions Maintain and update online enrollment system; work with vendor to provide plan and employee data is accurate prior to Open Enrollment, conduct routine audits to check data accuracy Respond to requests for data files; ability to create reports and manipulate data files to meet specifications of vendors, carriers, or broker Creates and maintains department benefits files Creates, prepares, and distributes agendas and supporting documentation for Insurance Committee meetings Takes minutes for Insurance Committee meetings; revises and distributes minutes to Committee members and Board of Directors Presents health and welfare plan information to the Board of Directors and Insurance Committee Updates benefit enrollment, premium and deduction data for ASMG physicians and AMP staff in Great Plains Serves as backup to Retirement Plan Administrator as needed, assisting with administration of physician and staff 401(k) and Cash Balance pension plans, including funding, reporting and customer support Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business with emphasis in Accounting or Human Resources Minimum three to five years experience in benefits administration required Knowledge of ERISA and other pension and benefits related government laws, regulations, and requirements Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel; MS Access required Working knowledge of MS Great Plains preferred Detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, with decision making and problem-solving expertise Ability to work as an effective team member and collaborate in addressing complex issues Ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities Excellent oral and written communication skills Company Description Anesthesia Management Professionals, Inc.
