    Leading global aerospace manufacturer is seeking an Assistant Controller at their Anaheim corporate offices. This role is a high-profile position, demanding interaction with all departments and various levels of employees to provide leadership and management of financial activities in support of Company objectives. 

    Direct reports may include but is not limited to: Accounting Manager, A/R, A/P and Payroll. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES – Other duties may be assigned

    • Develops assessments and business analysis to identify areas to improve financial performance.
    • Performs the cost accounting activities to ensure the ongoing accuracy of product cost informatin in an actual cost system.
    • Assists with monthly closing, financial reporting and analysis.
    • Analyze budget vs actual performance and account reconciliations.
    • Responsible for the training and development of all Finance department personnel. Also, evaluates the workload and streamlines processes.
    • Develops annual budgets consistent with company objectives.
    • Manages the inventory accuracy and cycle count activity.
    • Monitors operational activities for compliance with internal control procedures and SOX requirements. Manage and provides information to outside auditors.
    • Assists with system implementations and upgrades. 

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA a plus
    • 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience
    • 3 years of management experience
    • Must have in-depth professional knowledge of accounting concepts, manufacturing systems, cost accounting and financial planning methods
    • Preferred experience in high mix/low volume aerospace environment; or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience 

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Problem solving, critical thinking and creativity skills are essential.
    • Must be a self-motivated individual with strong hands on leadership skills
    • Excellent PC skills including Excel and other MS Office applications and working knowledge of ERP systems.
    • Excellent oral, written communications and have a high level of moral and ethical codes.
