    Publicly traded global investment management firm is looking for a stellar Senior Investment Accounting Associate. The Investment Accounting team is part of the global Investment Operations team within the broader Finance & Accounting Operations organization and is responsible for the firmwide analysis of new/existing investments and daily profit and loss, development of accounting /other investment policies as well as internal/external reporting as reporting and works closely with Accounting, FP&A, Operations, Compliance, Portfolio Management, Middle Office and Front Office.

    The individual will be responsible for monitoring a pipeline of credit deals to evaluate each for specific accounting, tax, compliance and legal concerns, working with the Deal Team on structuring deal mechanics and reviewing transaction analysis summaries for the U.S Direct Lending business. In addition, they will be responsible preparing transaction analysis summaries for the Alternative Credit business and reviewing daily profit and loss to ensure on-going deal servicing is in accordance with policy.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Primary responsibility will be to review all US Direct Lending transaction analysis memos and prepare all Alternative Credit transaction analysis memos for each line of business’ deal flow (originations, exits and restructures) to ensure proper accounting in accordance with GAAP. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Review deals in the pipeline to identify any accounting, tax or compliance concerns and coordinate with relevant stakeholders when concerns are identified
    • Review complex credit terms, fee structures and syndication mechanisms to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP
    • Review daily profit and loss anomalies
    • Participate in weekly investment committee, watch list, valuation, allocation and strategy discussions
    • Assist in the financial close including but not limited to:

          >Summarization of key valuation discussion points and potential action items for FP&A and Accounting

          >Review bi-weekly/monthly/quarterly investment purchases/sales reports and cost rollforwards

          >Review the accuracy of fee income reports for monthly and quarterly closes

          >Assist in quarterly SEC filing prep as needed

    • Prepare summary level origination statistics and reports across the entire credit platform (quarterly Pitchbook requests)
    • Review certain data fields specific for US Credit and coordinate ad hoc data requests
    • Prepare ad hoc requests for investors, investor relations, portfolio management and other internal teams
    • Participate and implement the company’s technological initiatives as it pertains to the investment process including building and maintaining internal modeling and monitoring tools
    • Assist with new systems implementation and cut over from current to new accounting system by reconciling data between the systems

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting required
    • CPA or CPA candidate preferred
    • 4-8 years of relevant work experience (public/fund accounting or product control preferred)
    • Strong Microsoft Office skills required (PowerBI/Tableau/Alteryx preferred)
    • Exposure to alternative assets, preferably credit instruments such as bank debt, bonds, structured products and other fixed income products
    • Knowledge of investment accounting and the investment lifecycle
