    Reputable publicly traded organization in Los Angeles is looking for a sharp Payroll Administrator to join a high performing Human Resources team. The person will be responsible for administration of all aspects of payroll for their U.S. employees. Responsibilities will include management and administration of day-to-day payroll operations and activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional client service to the U.S. employee population, promptly addressing all related queries/concerns and streamlining/improving their payroll and accounting processes to ensure best practices.

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for liaising with multiple vendors, internal and external auditors and payroll and tax providers. It will also be necessary to effectively interface and liaise with the Human Resources team, Finance & Accounting, Tax and Legal team members to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, accounting, tax and internal requirements.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review and aid in processing full-cycle multi-state semi-monthly payroll for domestic employees across 4 different payroll entities

    • Provide timely management reports

    • Interact with HR and employees to coordinate any employee related issues that impact payroll

    • Contribute to policies and procedures for payroll department

    • Ensure compliance with internal controls; ensure compliance with state and federal requirements

    • Research and resolve payroll related inquiries: direct deposit, deductions, garnishments, W-4 changes

    • Coordinate and process annual bonus payments, special payments, equity vesting transactions, and option exercise transactions in addition to regular monthly salary

    • Manage and reconcile timekeeping transactions for hourly employees

    • Review and issue W-2s

    • Create journal entries related to processed payrolls, review payroll general ledger account entries, and support general ledger reconciliations

    • Prepare materials for external auditors

    • Serve as contact for Workers Comp Audit

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting required

    • Certified Payroll Professional preferred

    Experience Required:

    • Knowledge of ADP software and reporting tools, WorkforceNow preferred

    • Detailed knowledge of the payroll process including deductions for withholding, FICA, Medicare, benefits, 401k, etc. and compliance with federal and state requirements

    • Preparation of journal entries and reconciling payroll entries

    • Familiarity with opening new payroll entities and/or states for payroll

    • Familiarity with equity and option transactions preferred
