    Global consumer products company is looking for a Lab Quality Control Director based out of their Los Angeles headquarters. The Director will be responsible for managing the global analytical method and technology development and all aspects of corporate laboratory functions. This position will be responsible for providing investigation support and implement best-in-class practices. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides leadership, guidance and direction to COE team to support the department’s and company’s strategic initiatives and goals.
    • Create the roadmap and strategy to lead the COE functions to be best-in-class.
    • Lead the global method development and stability program; develop the framework and policy for analytical method development, validation and transfer, applying QbD (Quality-by-Design) concepts and utilizing DOE (Design-of-Experiment) tools.
    • Lead the botanical research and support all the activities related to the botanical science program.
    • Work with industry partners and scientific affiliates and contribute to the advancement of analytical technologies and method research.
    • Implement innovation ideas and continuous improvement activities.
    • Manage laboratory operations and maintain the laboratories in compliance with ISO17025 accreditation requirements and other applicable local laws/regulations.
    • Liaise with the regulatory authorities on laboratory operations and support regulatory audit preparation.
    • Develop metrics and reports to assess performance, trend and analyze data and take appropriate actions as appropriate. Track, report and provide periodic reports to management in support of Quality Metrics. Leverage data to improve product quality and laboratory efficiency.
    • Manage all expenses related to COE lab functions.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • 5 direct reports; 4 managers, 1 scientist

    QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences, engineering or equivalent technical field
    • 10+ years of Quality Control laboratory operations experience
    • 7+ years of experience as a Quality Manager
    • Familiarity with cGMP and worldwide regulations related to stability of food and dietary supplements
    • Leadership skills with experience in implementing quality processes, systems and strategies
    • Knowledge in botanical science and analytical method development/research
    • Knowledge in ISO17025 requirements
    • Proven hands-on experience with a variety of both GMP and GLP matters
    • Verbal and written communication skills with ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and detail
    • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
