    Thriving publicly traded, global consumer goods company is seeking a sharp Accounting Project Manager at their offices in Los Angeles. This role will provide project management expertise to identify, analyze, research, and resolve business process issues and makes appropriate recommendations. This role will leverage analytical and technical skills to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions, understand stakeholder needs to help envision and create solutions to solve business problems. 

    This qualified candidate will also own critical business accounting processes including master data management, internal controls, audit, and compliance. The Accounting Project Manager’s focus will be the end user experience of the company’s accounting systems & continuous improvement after project delivery. A successful candidate is results driven with attention to detail and strongly committed to setting and meeting deadline expectations.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Project Management, Process Improvement & Ongoing Support

    • Lead projects, programs, and process improvements utilizing standardized and consistent project management and change management best practices established in partnership with other teams.
    • Leverage best practices, techniques, and tools for quality control, project planning, execution, project management, ongoing milestone tracking, communication, and key performance metrics.
    • Design and create reporting to support key initiatives to fulfill internal & external customer requests.
    • Drive and execute project plans, including change management and adoption.
    • Understand numerous interrelated Finance & Accounting processes, systems, and tools.
    • Ensure hands on approach with ongoing data accuracy & process integrity.
    • Ownership & ongoing support of critical business accounting process, master data management & contingency support
    • Serve as the Finance team’s “internal consultant”, summarizing and synthesizing findings and insights into concise communications.

    Leadership & Cross Departmental Collaboration

    • Lead, support, and develop the accounting team while driving efficiency & automation to keep up with the demands of the high-growth business.
    • Develop and build excellent relationships with Master Data Management, Regulatory, IT, and other Customer Experience Team
    • Lead by influence outside of hierarchy to ensure deadlines and goals are met.
    • Build strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Support the Controller and other Finance & Accounting leaders where needed.

    Internal Controls and Compliance

    • Support the formulation and implementation of control systems within the organization.
    • Proactively resolve risks and address the root causes of issues to build business resilience, including the ongoing audit for data integrity.
    • Draft SOP’s and maintaining them up to date.
    • Other ad hoc duties as assigned. 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred.
    • 7+ years of strategic and tactical financial management experience in working within a very dynamic & rapidly growing organization, including 3+ years of experience in CPG/Manufacturing/Wholesale/ Retail industry
    • Significant project, consulting, & accounting experience; Experience in Big 4 accounting firms a huge plus
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
    • Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
    • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
    • An intellectually curious, analytical mind with good judgement and a strategic ability.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel/database skills. Experience with other financial systems.
