Thriving Global investment management firm is seeking an experienced Senior Associate to join the Corporate Accounting team in Los Angeles [hybrid-remote] focused on operating expenses, including accruals, monthly expense analyses and management reporting.
The Corporate Accounting Department oversees and manages the financial statement close process and internal and external financial reporting for the public management company. Under the leadership of the Chief Accounting Officer, the Corporate Accounting Department is comprised of functional teams that operate collaboratively to oversee operating expenses, revenues, consolidation and SEC reporting. The Corporate Accounting team has close working relationships with external service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure the reporting of accurate results both internally and externally.
This role will require a dynamic, adaptive and agile hands-on professional who will be capable of ensuring optimal processes in a fast-paced rapidly growing environment and will primarily be responsible for the following tasks:
- Liaise with external professional service firms and internal stakeholders to gather relevant information and prepare professional service and marketing accruals and related analyses
- Review journal entries and cash reconciliations prepared by third party cash reconciliation team
- Perform monthly and quarterly analyses of operating expenses for Senior Management
- Prepare departmental operating expense analyses and review with Department Heads
- Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Partner with internal and external auditors and internal legal, tax and relationship management groups to provide ongoing support and resolve issues
- Collaborate with peers in Accounting and other departments in various locations across the globe to implement best practices and drive process improvements
- Assist in completing ad-hoc requests and special projects
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Master’s Degree in Accounting considered a plus
- CPA preferred
Experience
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience in public accounting and/or investment industry experience
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools a plus
- Experience with Oracle Fusion a plus
