The position performs various daily, weekly and monthly tasks including various account analyses.The position requires a self-starter, analytical and detail-oriented individual.
This position performs accounts receivable functions for three major companies. The position ensures that the customer masters are maintained and cash is applied accurately and promptly to customer accounts.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual A/R account analyses.
- Prepare the monthly Cash Discount accruals and quarterly true up analysis and journals.
- Process the monthly Foreign Currency Unrealized Gain/Loss journals.
- Ensure all incoming checks from customers are sent to lockboxes located throughout the U.S.Incoming wires (and ACHs) are received into the various bank concentration accounts.Payments are applied to customer accounts on a daily basis.
- Ensure the timely application of cash transactions.
- Review and post A/R Receipts Journal Reports in Oracle based system daily.
- Review credit memos for correctness and code with the G/L distribution.
- Maintain the A/R Clearing Account schedules as needed
- Process credit memos and miscellaneous invoices as received.
- Support and provide documentation as requested by external auditors quarterly and annually.
- Prepare the monthly Vendor Scrap Adjustment journal.
- Set up new customer masters and performs maintenance on existing customer masters
- Update policies and procedures, both plant and corporate, as needed.
- Assess process weaknesses and suggest and implement improvements.
Skills & Knowledge Set
The successful candidate will have the following skill set:
- BA or BS in Accounting.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in General Accounting, account reconciliations and analysis.
- Positive attitude, a team player
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Minimum Intermediate Excel skills necessary to prepare account analysis.
