    We are recruiting for a Senior Corporate Accountant for a privately owned diversified holding company headquartered in Los Angeles, with more than 25 subsidiaries with primary locations in Southern California, Hawaii and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Subsidiaries include companies within automotive retail, insurance/financing, as well as real estate.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Oversees the financial statements, general ledger and business transactions for multiple entities. Ensures all transitions are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Additionally, performs analytical procedures and thorough review of financial records.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Essential Functions Statement(s)

    • Responsible for month-end and year-end closings of entities, as well as preparation of financial statements
    • Responsible for budget process and detailed account analysis
    • Oversee monthly accruals, amortization, fixed assets depreciation and recording of month-end journal entries
    • Perform monthly general accounts analysis and reconciliations including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals and prepaid expenses
    • Process cash receipts, invoicing, recording of revenue and receivables and payables
    • Maintain organized and detailed financial records and workpapers
    • Assist with the consolidation and eliminations
    • Assist with technical accounting research
    • Prepare documentation for external auditors
    • Prepare and submit annual surveys required by the US Census Bureau

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    Experience and Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 – 6 years’ experience in both private industry and public accounting preferred

    Computer Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
    • Oracle, Quickbooks, Yardi
