    Growing international gaming and entertainment company in Los Angeles, CA is hiring for a Technical Accounting and Reporting Manager to join their team. This position will report directly to the Director of Technical Accounting. Ideal candidate will have Big 4 audit with public company experience. CPA highly preferred. The company is currently remote, and is open to a hybrid schedule in 2022, likely 3 days in office. Excellent benefits and culture!

     The position will be responsible for preparing technical accounting research related to new and proposed accounting standards as well as development and implementation of related accounting policies. The Manager will also support the Director of Technical Accounting and Reporting in the implementation, maintenance and review of internal controls over financial reporting.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare financial statements under US GAAP & IFRS and related footnote disclosures
    • Prepare quarterly group reporting package
    • Assist with annual audit and quarterly reviews as needed, including project management
    • Prepare and update quarterly memos, such as the goodwill impairment analysis, segment reporting, intangibles impairment analysis, capitalized software, etc.
    • Maintain a listing of the company’s contracts, review, and analysis for proper accounting treatment on an ongoing basis
    • Support the Director of Technical Accounting and Reporting in working directly with external auditors and various SME consultants/advisors
    • Perform technical accounting research and prepare memos/white papers on the adoption of new accounting standards
    • Assist with the research and documentation of significant and highly complex transactions, including business combinations, debt, fair value measurements, revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, VIE, etc.
    • Maintain and update the company’s accounting policies
    • Assist with the internal control’s effort including designing providing internal control design recommendations, sharing knowledge with process owners on best practices
    • Assist with general ad hoc projects, research and recommend process improvements

    Qualifications

    • CPA qualification or equivalent
    • Excellent knowledge of US GAAP & IFRS
    • Experience with researching technical accounting issues and writing memos
    • 6+ years of combined experience with a national accounting firm, public reporting company, or consulting/advisory firm with exposure to technical research and public company financial reporting.
    • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn
    • Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills
    • Excellent project management skills, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task with limited supervision
    • Desire to collaborate with various teams across the company, strong sense of ownership, and ability to drive completion of goals
    • Proven ability to thrive under pressure and meet aggressive deadlines
    • Ability to execute independently and work with team members of all levels
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
