    Global healthcare company is expanding and seeking a Senior Accountant for their Los Angeles location. This role is responsible for the medium to complex accounting activities associated with maintaining key general ledger accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, performing financial analysis and preparing management reports. 

    JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Provides support to the Accounting Manager and the Accounting Supervisor
    • Support and participate in the monthly close process within the functional area of responsibility, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately & timely as well as analyzing & reviewing financial statements
    • Prepare, review and analyze account reconciliations for entities and designated functions within area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes - Oxley control requirements.
    • Proactively identify issues and implement process improvements to streamline accounting and system-related processes.
    • Develops, prepares and maintains documentation pertaining to business processes and systems operations.
    • Reconcile and settle intercompany balances
    • Provides documentation for year-end audit process.
    • Prepares routine and ad hoc schedules, statements, reports and analytics as necessary.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned.
    • Protects patients’ health information (PHI) following Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards. 

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with an emphasis on Accounting
    • MBA and/or CPA a plus
    • 3 – 5 years of accounting experience
    • Healthcare industry, a plus
    • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/quarter-end/year-end close processes
    • Knowledge of ERP and business management systems, People-soft and MS Dynamics a plus.
    • Intermediate Microsoft applications skills (Excel, Word, Access).
    • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
    • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, management and financial policies, and tax regulations.
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and interact effectively and professionally with management, teammates, representatives of federal and state governments, and internal/external auditors.
    • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
    • Ability to provide efficient, timely and reliable information to managers and executive staff
    • Ability to effectively present and articulate financial information to executive staff.
    • Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and prepare clear and concise financial analysis
    • Must have ability to convey complex financial issues to nonfinancial users.
    • Ability to work with changing priorities in a fast paced/high volume environment.
    • Ability to develop and improve processes and provide alternative recommendations to issues within areas of responsibility
