    Privately held, growth-oriented Real Estate Acquisition and Investment Advisory Firm Headquartered in Irvine, CA with a focus on acquiring, managing, owning, and operating commercial real estate assets throughout the United States needs a skilled Senior Accountant to work closely with firm executives, asset management, and property management, and to be responsible for full cycle accounting and financial reporting functions related to designated properties.

    The Senior Accountant will be located at our Irvine office, and will regularly report to the Investment Director. This is a great opportunity for an individual seeking a highly visible and responsible position with a fully integrated Real Estate Investment firm that operates and oversees all aspects of fund management, portfolio management, property management, and brokerage services.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include The Following. Other Duties May Be Assigned.

    Treasury & Liquidity Management

    • Oversee Daily Cash Position Reporting and Liquidity Analysis
    • Work Closely With Acquisitions Team On Cash Needs Relating To Acquisitions, Refinancing Activities, And Dispositions
    • Forecast Cash Flow Positions, Related Borrowing Needs, and Funds Available For Investment
    • Ensure That Sufficient Funds Are Available To Meet Ongoing Operational and Capital Investment Requirements
    • Advise Management On The Liquidity Impacts of Its Short And Long Range Planning 
    • Maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over treasury activities. 
    • Develop, Manage, and Collaborate With Accounting and Asset Management On An Efficient Loan Draw Process To Ensure Timely Funding of Capital Improvements. 
    • Monitor Company-Wide Risk Exposure To Financial Institutions And Co-Investment Partners
    • Lead Treasury Initiatives To Optimize Working Capital In The Company As It Relates To A/R, A/P, Inventory, And Settlement Flows. 
    • Oversee Bank Account Administration (User Setup, Audits, Etc.). 
    • Oversee Day-To-Day Banking Relationships.

    Accounting / Reporting

    • Prepare Monthly Financial Statement and Analysis in Accordance with GAAP
    • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly Variance Reports
    • Prepare Lender Reporting Packages
    • Prepare Monthly Bank Reconciliations
    • Record Monthly Adjusting and Accrual Entries (Including Construction and Retention)
    • Update Fixed Asset System For Additions And Disposals And Record Monthly Depreciation/Amortization
    • Run Monthly Depreciation and Record Entries
    • Review Construction in Progress Schedule
    • Prepare Loan Draws For Construction Loans
    • Monitor Cash Balances
    • Work With Asset Management and Property Management Teams On Other Operational Reporting Initiatives, As Necessary
    • Assist In The Annual Audit and Tax Return Preparation For Parent Companies And All Corresponding Entities
    • Assist In Annual Budget Preparation
    • Straight Line Schedule
    • Utility Billbacks
    • CAM Reconciliations
    • Oversee Full-Cycle Accounting Duties For Entities Including Preparation and Analysis of The Financial Statements, General Ledgers, and Subsidiary Ledgers. 
    • Communicate Effectively With Independent 3rd Party Fund Administrators

    Accounts Receivable

    • Record Tenant Receipts Against Monthly Charges
    • Process Monthly Tenant Billings and Other Miscellaneous Billbacks
    • Record Incoming Tenant Rents
    • Monitor Tenant Accounts For Overages/Shortages and Past Due Amounts
    • Send Monthly Invoices/Statements To Tenants
    • Prepare For Possible Yardi Integration And Oversee If Software Is Adopted

    Accounts Payable

    • Review and Code Invoices In Payscan
    • Process Pay Apps and Ensure All Supporting Documentation Is Provided
    • Record Electronic Payments
    • Process Weekly Check Runs, Both Manual and Integrated
    • Review and Post Accounts Payable
    • Create TBA for Billbacks Initiated By Invoices
    • Process Brokerage Commission Checks Associated With Leases And Sales

    Education / Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree In Accounting
    • CPA Designation
    • Minimum of Five (5) Years Real Estate Accounting Experience (Concurrent)
    • Minimum of Three (3) Years Of Corporate Accounting Experience (Concurrent)
    • Knowledge Of Departmentalized / Segment Accounting And Consolidation 
    • Yardi GL and Job Cost Experience
    • Computer Skills: Yardi, Excel (Advanced Including Cash Flow Modeling), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams
