  • Responsibilities

    Publicly traded global investment management firm is looking for a high performing Associate Vice President of Corporate Accounting to join the Los Angeles Corporate Accounting team. The AVP will provide thought leadership, technical accounting guidance, review, and support to the team across a range of accounting areas. 

    PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Managing the systems and processes through which we capture appropriate approvals for rebilling
    • Administering and resolving of complex allocation issues
    • Building good working relationships with other business functions, particularly fund accounting, to ensure timely processing of rebills
    • Providing support, transparency, and training to other stakeholders in the billback process
    • Directly supporting the Assistant Controller in providing leadership, mentorship, and oversight to the broader team across the broad range of accounting areas and situations the team manages beyond what has been already listed
    • Contributing to various special projects including capital transactions, acquisitions, and process improvements to improve overall group efficiencies
    • Helping to automate other accounting and financial reporting requirements
    • Support internal reporting requirements and other ad-hoc requests of various internal users including other finance and accounting teams, investor relations and the front office.
    • Other duties as assigned by management 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is considered a plus.
    • CPA required. 

    Experience:

    • 6+ years of progressive professional experience in accounting.
    • Public accounting experience preferred.
    • Financial services experience is preferred
    • Exposure to investment management, fund accounting, and SEC reporting, is strongly preferred.

    • Ability to identify and analyze problems and to develop an effective course of action.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills.
