Thriving global investment management firm is seeking a sharp Investment Accountant Associate at their headquarters in Los Angeles. Hybrid-Remote: 3 days/wk on-site

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute and oversee the accounting for various investment instruments, including fixed income, equities, alternatives, and mortgage investments. Prepare and analyze financial reports related to investment portfolios, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and STAT accounting standards.
• Collaborate with investment managers on investment-related accounting matters, including valuation and performance reporting.
• Review daily holding reconciliations between investment accounting subledgers to custodian records.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness of Investment Accounting procedures.
• Provide ongoing support to trade operations, clients, front office teams, and other stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively. Participate in meetings and presentations related to investment accounting matters.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the accounting team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
• CPA preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in an investment accounting role or in public accounting.
• Knowledge of Fixed Income, Structured Products, Derivatives, Mortgage Loans and/or Alternative Investments.
• Demonstrated process orientation and problem-solving skills.
• A strong detailed orientation.
• Ability to work effectively on cross functional teams/projects.
