Global publicly traded firm is seeking a sharp Business Systems Project Manager-Workday responsible for managing business and system related projects and programs that support our global finance organization. The role will work with business, technical staff and vendors to prepare and maintain budgets, schedules, project and resources plans, status and various communications to ensure that projects/programs are delivered efficiently and with a high degree of quality. The role will manage a global portfolio of projects that cross multiple business segments. The role will define and maintain a methodology and a set of tools and templates related to the program/project management function.

Responsibilities:

• Determine project/program parameters, design approach/strategy
• Establish project plans, estimate the efforts of tasks and initiatives to determine total timeline, detailed budgets and forecasts for projects
• Define communications strategy and deliver results through highly effective communications.
• Communicate status of projects within and across departments. Ensure project status is accurate, comprehensive, and proactively addresses issues and risks
• Consistently manages issues and risks proactively, preventing escalated situations.
• Address project changes as they arise, and often proactively, through altering project processes.
• Effective organization of meetings to ensure flow of information, progress, proactive mitigation of risks and issues
• Interact with necessary stakeholders, team members and vendors to manage and deliver project
• Independently track key project milestones and adjusts project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of the project
• Participate in and provide input into ongoing project methodology process improvement efforts.
• Use influence and expertise to promote an atmosphere of cohesiveness and focused collaboration between all the members of the team in the interest of driving the product forward

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or equivalent
• 8+ years of experience in leading large, complex and global projects to deliver system and business change to organizations
• Workday project management experience required (either HCM or Financials)
• Business operational and system expertise required
• Working knowledge of various System Development Life Cycle methodologies (e.g. agile, iterative, waterfall, etc.)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational and time management skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• An ability to establish and maintain strong customer relationships
• Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated skills in use of software such as MS Projects, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, JIRA, ServiceNow, Smartsheets, etc.
