Senior Accounting Associate-Investment Management
Large publicly traded, leading global financial services firm with approximately $180 billion of assets under management is seeking an experienced, highly-motivated Senior Accounting Associate to join their high performing team in Los Angeles. The Senior Accounting Associate will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of publicly traded regulated investment companies with a primary focus on investment related activities and accurately reporting the daily net asset value per share for certain funds.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• High level of interaction across the organization, including communications with tax, operations, investor relations, financial reporting and portfolio management
• Assist in preparation of US GAAP financial statements for monthly reporting and quarterly and annual SEC filings
• Assist in managing relationships and liaising with internal resources, offshore resources, fund administrators and auditors to meet reporting deadlines
• Review reporting to investors and internal constituents (portfolio managers, investor relations)
• Oversee and review daily and monthly NAV packages from the fund administrator
• Preparation of quarterly footnote and MD&A disclosures and other analyses, as needed
• Review of NQ, NCSRS and NCSR reporting for the funds
• Provide compliance reporting (Form PF, ADV, etc.)
• Track and coordinate expense payments for the funds
• Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations and fluctuation analyses
• Preparation of quarterly board reporting
• Work closely with operations and other groups in managing daily cash and position breaks
• Participate in firm initiatives and team specific projects for process improvements
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is considered a plus
• CPA preferred
Experience Required:
• 3+ years of progressive professional experience in finance and public accounting (Big 4 preferred)
• Experience with bank debt
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment
• Ability to assist in managing multiple 3rd party relationships
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Strong verbal and written skills; ability to analyze and summarize complex information
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task and manage various deadlines
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
