About Us We’re a small but ambitious Agency (fewer than 10 employees) on a mission to remove barriers to communication access for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community across the United States. As we scale, we rely on talented contractors and freelancers nationwide to help us deliver results fast. To support this growth, we’re looking for a Recruitment Lead - Contract Talent who will own the entire contractor hiring process from start to finish.
Why This Role Matters This is a unique opportunity to build our contractor recruiting function from the ground up. You’ll be the key driver in sourcing, vetting, and onboarding the specialized freelance and contract talent that powers our company. Your work directly impacts our growth trajectory, and you’ll shape processes that will scale with us.
What You’ll Do
Partner with founders and team leads to understand contractor needs.
Write engaging role descriptions and scope statements.
Source and build relationships with freelancers and contractors nationwide.
Manage the end-to-end recruiting process: outreach, screening, interviews, rate negotiation, and onboarding.
Ensure contracts, NDAs, and agreements are completed accurately.
Track contractor performance and maintain a pipeline of talent for future needs.
Report on recruiting metrics and suggest process improvements.
Collaborate on building scalable systems for managing our extended workforce.
What We’re Looking For
2+ years of recruiting experience (in-house, staffing, or agency).
Strong sourcing and relationship-building skills, especially with freelancers/contractors.
Familiarity with compliance basics (contracts, rates, agreements).
Excellent communication and organization skills.
Startup-ready: adaptable, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-changing environment.
Bonus: Experience setting up recruiting systems or working in early-stage companies.
Compensation & Perks
Base salary: $45,000–$60,000 (depending on experience and location).
