    We are seeking a clinical psychologist with a strong interest and background in medical psychology, health psychology and behavioral medicine. The incoming psychologist will join a vibrant and robust sleep program and will collaborate with neurologists and other experts in assessment and intervention. In addition to assisting patients with sleep challenges, the successful candidate will provide consultation to inpatient medical-surgical units, hospital-based psychotherapy and outpatient psychological services requested by community and specialty clinic providers. This psychologist will join an expanding department of clinical psychologists, neuropsychologists, psychometrists, mental health clinicians and trainees.

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Provides psychological services to primarily adult patients seen in a multidisciplinary sleep program within a Neurology health care service of an academic medical center. Medical Psychology consultation, brief intervention with hospitalized patients and outpatient psychotherapy will also be expected.

    Services include program development, diagnostic evaluation, psychological intervention, and staff consultation.   The successful candidate may provide clinical supervision and training when practicum students, interns, postdoctoral fellows or medical residents are present.

    EDUCATION:

    Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from APA accredited program. Completion of internship from APA accredited program. Completion of at least 1 year of postdoctoral training in a health psychology or hospital setting is preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum 3 years' post-licensure experience in Clinical Psychology preferred. Minimum 3 years' post-licensure experience in providing individual, family, and group psychotherapy is also preferred. Recent graduates of post-doctoral fellowships with a strong relevant clinical background will be considered.

    Strong working knowledge of cognitive-behavioral therapy and other empirically supported clinical interventions, crisis assessment and intervention, diagnostic formulation and treatment planning, general clinical and health psychology, and clinical consultation required.

    Specific background in sleep hygiene and sleep disorder prevention and management strongly preferred.

    Must be licensed in the state of Vermont.
