RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE:
Direct and manage the efforts of the Business Development team, which includes 8-12 inside and outside sales professionals and creative services professionals
Motivate and drive the team to meet or exceed established revenue and volume goals on a quarterly and annual basis
Advise team members on best practices in program design, including development of program concept, critical path, timeline, appropriate staffing levels, and working budget
Ensure that team members’ pipeline development strategies and communications are consistent with RVE’s processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Oversee and assist with custom proposal development
Assist team members in clarifying and defining client sales meeting objectives, ensuring that they reflect client’s standards and purpose
Work with team members to provide comprehensive and effective handoff to Professional Services team to position each client program for success
Provide Executive Team with updated and accurate pipeline analysis for forecasting future business and revenues
Attend networking meetings as needed; membership & meeting fees will be paid by RVE
Position is based in Austin, Texas; however, occasional client sales calls and events may require travel outside of Greater Austin and Texas. Valid passport encouraged.
Occasional work on evenings and weekends
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Must have a MINIMUM of 2 years of experience in managing teams of 5+ people selling professional or other services, preferably within the events, hospitality and/or agency/experiential marketing industry; experience in a high-growth environment and/or the Destination Management Company (DMC) marketplace considered a plus
Must also have a past proven track record (5+ years) for meeting or exceeding revenue and volume targets selling professional or other services
Motivated by high potential in bonus compensation for exceeding team revenue generation and volume goals
Must be highly skilled in training team members in negotiation, conflict management, account management, forecasting, and relationship management
Adept in customer-focused service selling techniques, asking probing questions to identify core needs and provide custom solutions for each client
Works well in a sales-driven culture
Able to cope with and adapt to rapid change, and to navigate effectively through ambiguity
Technical Skills: must have extensive experience in MS Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint), Google Drive, DropBox, and Salesforce; must be savvy in the use of social media to identify trends and understand the competitive landscape; knowledge of Harvest and Adobe Acrobat considered a plus
Able to communicate effectively and in an authentic manner in all channels (e-mail, phone and in-person)
Highly organized
Ability to make decisions based on critical thinking, problem solving, process knowledge, research, surveys, and trend analysis
Ability to work with limited supervision and in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
Interested in working in a start-up type environment
