    Being a Travel & Logistics Specialist at Red Velvet Events is more than just managing transportation logistics and being organized. You are essentially an extension of our client’s team.     RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE:

    Lead & manage logistics for airport arrivals, ground transportation, dispatch, select tours & activities.

    Provide customized quotes & create budgets that support the company’s goals & objectives.

    Serve as the main point of contact for all event permitting needs and coordinate with City of Austin officials to obtain all required permits for events.

    Work with colleagues on the Professional Services team to assess event staffing needs and fill all staffing shifts with qualified and appropriate personnel

    Serve as the primary subject matter expert on registration platforms for the Professional Services team for systems utilized by RVE and our clients; serve as registration lead on client engagements which involve registration services.

    Attend occasional networking meetings, including but not limited to MPI, ILEA, NACE, HSMAI, ADMEI and SITE (membership & meeting fees will be covered by RVE).

    Attend City of Austin meetings and stay educated on the latest developments in permitting rules & regulations.

    Build and strengthen relationships with industry (transportation) suppliers, city permitting officials, RVE contractors and other strategic partners.

    Be comfortable with creative problem-solving new issues uncovered during a typical work day.

    Stay current on industry trends in destination management and travel/transportation logistics.

    Dress appropriately for client meetings and on-site event management.

    Provide time-saving manifest groupings and open-mindedness with various transportation solutions.

    Provide efficient on-site event management for transportation requests.

    Position is based in Austin, Texas.

    SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

    MINIMUM 1-2 years of transportation or logistics management-related experience strongly preferred; will consider someone that has been involved with the event/guest services industry but not directly in transportation management.

    Technical Skills: must have extensive experience in MS Office Suite, Google Drive, DropBox, and Salesforce; must be proficient in managing multiple worksheets in a workbook and manipulating/filtering data in Excel files; knowledge of Shiftboard, Slack, CVENT (or other registration platforms), and Harvest considered a plus

    Must be familiar with Austin, Texas (roads, directions, hotels, restaurants, street closures, construction, tours and activities, etc.).

    Able to communicate effectively and in an authentic manner in all channels (e-mail, phone and in-person)

    Highly organized

    Able to cope with and adapt to rapid change, and to navigate effectively through ambiguity

    Ability to work with limited supervision and in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment

    Comfortable working on a laptop.

    Available to work occasional evenings and weekends based on event needs/deadlines.

    Interested in working in a start-up type environment.

    Must have an upbeat “Can Do” positive attitude.
