    Being an Associate Program Coordinator Intern at Red Velvet Events is more than just making copies and shadowing planners. You are essentially a planner in training. You will be given the opportunity to experience different aspects of the job from logistics, to marketing, to accounting and more.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    This paid internship position is based out of our HQ in Austin, Texas.

    Report to our VP of Professional Services and work alongside a team of seasoned event professionals.

    Will work from RVE offices Monday through Friday unless meeting with clients or working onsite at a program.

    Must be available 35-40 hrs/week depending on events schedule, including office time & daily email checking & response.

    Internship starts in June 2019 and goes through May 2020. Exact start date is flexible.

    You will be required to check your RVE e-mail account & respond to all emails daily as we are committed to responding to all client requests within 1 business day.

    Assist with event planning and management while maintaining client confidentiality.

    Work alongside our full-time Program Managers on items including but not limited to: onsite event setup and execution, shadowing internal and client/vendor meetings, in-person, phone, and email correspondence with event partners, general pre-planning assistance.

    Attend occasional networking meetings, including but not limited to MPI, ILEA, NACE, HSMAI, and ADMEi (meeting fees will be covered by RVE).

    SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

    Technical Skills: definitely must know MS Office Suite (including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook – and especially Excel). Knowledge of Google Drive, Dropbox, Salesforce, Harvest, and/or Slack a plus.

    Have internet access at your residence (to allow quick responses to our Clients/vendors).

    Own a laptop which you are expected to bring to the office (monthly stipend provided for laptop, cellphone, and mileage).

    Have strong customer service & organizational skills.

    Show initiative and have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

    Dress appropriately with business casual to business professional attire.

    Be comfortable with daily e-mail, phone and in-person communication.

    Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

    Ability to work with little supervision and in a fast-pace environment.

    Ability to make decisions based on critical thinking, problem solving, and research.

    Available to work evenings and weekends based on program needs/deadlines.

    Frequently required to lift and transport boxes or other items weighing up to 30 lbs.

    Occasionally required to stand and/or remain in a stationary position for 6-8 hours at a time.

    Occasionally required to perform work in outdoor weather conditions.

    Have access to daily transportation.

    Interested in working in a start-up type environment.

    Conduct all business matters fairly, honestly and ethically with the utmost professionalism.
