Being a Copywriter at Red Velvet Events is more than just writing proposals and creating new content for our blog. You are an extension of our internal marketing and account teams, working on event concept and design. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Compose compelling original copy for a range of marketing and communication materials, including our blog, client proposals, pitch presentations and programs.
Stay on top of industry trends to create imaginative, engaging and breakthrough content and develop unique concepts that are aligned to and help push our clients’ and their brands’ vision forward.
Collaborate with the internal team from concept development to delivery of final product.
Generate, research, and pitch ideas for our blog posts to our marketing team, maintaining a clear and consistent brand voice.
Simultaneously manage multiple projects with short deadlines.
Attend pre-approved networking/educational meetings (membership & meeting fees will be covered by RVE).
Be comfortable with - even inspired by - creative problem-solving new issues uncovered during a typical work day.
Dress appropriately for client/partner meetings and networking engagements.
Position is based in Austin, Texas. Will work from the main office Monday through Friday unless meeting with clients/vendors or working onsite for an event.
Position reports to our Senior Director of Business Development.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, or related discipline
MINIMUM 3 years experience in producing copy for digital and/or print channels
Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides a plus
Technical Skills: must have extensive experience in MS Office Suite. Experience with Google Drive, DropBox, Slack, Salesforce and Harvest considered a plus
Able to communicate effectively and in an authentic manner in all channels (e-mail, phone and in-person)
Must be innovative, inventive and a trend spotter
Highly organized and self-motivated
Able to cope with and adapt to rapid change, and to navigate effectively through ambiguity
Able to work with limited supervision and in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
Available to work occasional evenings and weekends based on internal/client needs and deadlines
Interested in working in a start-up type environment
Must have an upbeat “Can Do” positive attitude
Maintain RVE business integrity by conducting all matters fairly, honestly and ethically and with the utmost professionalism
