    Job Title: Operations Manager, Redeemer Downtown FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Sunday Service & Hospitality Director Work Hours: Full-time Approx. Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000/ year

    Job Summary: The Operations Manager at Redeemer Downtown will oversee operations for all Sunday Service elements and actively manage operations staff, oversee the setup and break down of our AM & PM Sunday worship services and events at the Salvation Army (14th St), as well as oversight of other events / logistical needs throughout the week. The Operations Manager will need to coordinate and galvanize a team of 14+ operations staff as they set up for children’s ministry, classes, and other Sunday related events. The Manager will also be required to collaborate with other Redeemer staff to improve on prior events and plan ahead for the future. A 14+ hr Sunday shift and Monday & Thursday office days are required (Tuesday / Wednesday remote work available).

    Responsibilities:

    Active management 14+ operations staff for weekly setup and breakdown for all Sunday service elements. Manager’s role includes the following: o Setup of worship arts (audio/tech equipment), sanctuary, signage, children / youth ministry classrooms, and various events (between 12 ppl to 200+ in size) o Communication of an effectively plan / strategy for the day o Ensure service / event setup and other goals are completed on schedule o Troubleshoot issues that arise on Sundays and come up with solutions o Count offering and make deposit at bank (as needed)

    Commit to a weekly rhythm of in-person and remote work cycle, including but not limited to the following: o Monday (In Office): ▪ Team wide meeting with devotion, prayer, and discussing recent events ▪ Worship Service meeting with analysis on past week’s service elements. Discuss and assign tasks for any necessary improvements and coming Sunday elements. ▪ Meet with Sunday Service Director o Thursday (In Office): ▪ Gather information via Slack and other team members to finalize specific events logistics taking place on Sunday. ▪ Send weekly communications to Operations team with all plans for Sunday / future events o Sunday: 12-14 hr day on Sunday managing and leading all operations related to Sunday worship services and other Sunday events

    Send out weekly emails & Whatsapp updates to Operations staff that lays out plan for Sunday o Craft weekly document with specifics of Sunday’s operation, roles of each Ops staff, and a plan to support service and event needs. This will include details for: ▪ Worship service elements: Communion, baptisms, mics / chairs needed for specific speaking roles ▪ Worship Arts - Instructions from worship arts directors regarding specifics of stage setup for each service ▪ Volunteer Ministry needs - Volunteer Table, Welcome Table, Book table, and other potential needs (Youth, Childrens, CG) ▪ Extra events on Sundays - Family Lunch, Leadership Community Gatherings, Intro to Redeemer Lunches, Ministry Fair, etc o Draw clear and relevant diagrams for room setup as needed (either digital or hand drawn)

    Administrative tasks pertaining to the operations role include: o Making sure various supplies are stocked up ▪ Make relevant orders from Amazon, Webstaurant, Uline, Christianbook, and other vendors, including: beverage table supplies, table covers, tape, Communion needs, and more o Pay weekly invoices ▪ Salvation Army monthly rent ▪ Security Guard invoices o Operations Payroll Management ▪ Approve Bi-montly payroll for Operations Staff & time off requests ▪ Manage any payment / employment issues that arise o Submit weekly payments for reimbursement through Tallie

    Working on other various Operations events ad needs throughout the week, including but not limited to: o Monthly Praise & Prayer Nights o Special holiday services o Facilitating weekly delivery of Redeemer event materials from office to the Salvation Army o Logistical support for other Redeemer Downtown ministries

    Foster positive team culture through: o One-on-one meetings with Operations staff o Celebration of team birthdays / milestones o Appreciation initiatives including team lunches and other team building events. o Apply thoughtful, yet appropriate measures when disciplinary actions are needed:(excessive tardiness, character issues, etc). Work with HR when necessary for discern appropriate steps are taken

    Provide oversight with Sunday Service Director to a 3-person security team on Sunday

    Work with Sunday Service Director to keep all policies and procedures up to date

    Skills & Qualifications:

    Embrace Redeemer Downtown’s vision and have a gospel-oriented heart for New York City

    Excellent interpersonal communication and organizing skills to coordinate project activities

    Good working knowledge of how to set up Worship Arts equipment, including but not limited to speakers, amps, drums, keyboard, microphones, stands, etc. If one does not possess these skills, one must demonstrate a keen ability to learn of such equipment proficiently

    Proficient in Google workspace, Microsoft Office, Slack (or Microsoft Teams)

    Type 50+ words per minute

    Communicate with others clearly and effectively

    Work with details and time-sensitive issues

    Good decision-making skills and response to high-pressure situations

    Work on Sundays

    The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set; experience and training; licensure, certifications, and ordination; and other organizational needs.
