    Our busy restaurant is looking for a detail-oriented individual with exceptional time management abilities who is passionate about providing our clients with an exceptional dining experience. As our next line cook, you will be responsible for ensuring that every dish is cooked and presented following appropriate recipes, and presentation standards, and with accuracy for the guest order. We need an experienced cook who is comfortable with a variety of cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, roasting, charbroiling, sautéing, grilling, frying, and baking. Our ideal applicant is a team player who can successfully communicate with other kitchen staff to keep our restaurant running efficiently. Responsibilities: • Assemble a system of food stations and fill them with everything they need for the shift • Grill, broil or saute menu items according to standard recipes and presentation specifications • Ensure that all interactions with visitors, vendors and colleagues are conducted in a professional and friendly manner • Recognize and adhere to quality requirements for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products, as well as correct storage and waste management • Maintain work stations, including all countertops, utensils, equipment, and refrigeration in a clean and sanitary condition per health and safety regulations • Arrive on time and ready to work • Communicate with coworkers, waitstaff, and management • Become aware of what is happening in the dining room (e.g. arrival of a large group) • Follow all the restaurant regulations prescribed • Communicate problems and ideas to management • Attend all meetings • Fill out all forms required • Label and date products used • Follow management instructions and suggestions ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • All other duties as assigned Qualifications: • We prefer some experience working in the food service industry • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification • Possesses a strong work ethic and have high attention to detail • Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers • Must be able to meet all safety and sanitation requirements of kitchen equipment and food storage • One year of cooking experience and/or recent Culinary Arts graduate • Knife skills • Knowledge of HACCP • Basic cooking knowledge Compensation: $16 - $20 hourly
