    We provide both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care at the highest professional standards, along with comprehensive skilled nursing and progressive treatment plans promoting quality care that inspires our patients positively. An interdisciplinary care team made up of nursing staff, therapist(s), resident dietitian, activities and social services develop a customized plan of care that addresses specific care needs and therapy goals necessary for the resident to reach their personal goals.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Keeps current in clinical nutrition and dietetics, food system management, and state and federal regulations
    • Assesses Nutritional needs of residents and patients. Provides diet instruction and counseling to patients and families. Develops regular and therapeutic diets to meet needs of center population. Participates in interdisciplinary care planning
    • Collaborates on nutrition care with nursing, medical, and other professional staff
    • Holds continuing education meetings for DSM and in-house RD
    • Collaborate with field service teams
    • Attend field service calls and meetings
    • Assists centers with tracking quality indicator and quality measure targets
    • Develops and implements continuing education program for dining services and nursing personnel
    • Evaluates food handling, sanitation, preparation, food service procedures and equipment
    • Evaluates purchasing practices and assists with budget compliance
    • Serves on committees and projects as assigned
    • Evaluates and provides guidance on provision of dining delivery and customer service
    • Investigates hotline complaints pertaining to dining or nutrition services as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
    • Maintains active registration status with the Commission of Dietetic Registration
    • Experience as a professional dietitian in long-term care with some administrative responsibility
    • Must maintain active membership in Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, preferred
    • Must maintain active state licensure where applicable
    • Ability to travel distances by auto/air including overnight stays and on-site work
    • Must have a valid resident state driver's license
    • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
