    Job Title: Inside Sales Representative

    Reports To: Branch Manager

    Position Status: Non-Exempt

    OVERVIEW

    The inside sales representative provides excellent customer service by responding to and resolving customer inquiries relating to company products. This position will also work cooperatively with outside sales and other members of the Reese team to grow existing customers, and create new customers.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Display courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the Reese community, customers and with the public;
    • Interact with customers directly by face to face, electronically, or telephone and respond to inquiries;
    • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner;
    • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products;
    • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications;
    • Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures;
    • Accurately process customer transactions such as orders, quotes or returns;
    • Provide accurate information regarding availability of in-stock items;
    • Obtain accurate information from purchasing relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery from vendors;
    • Manage order process from order entry to delivery;
    • Proactively recommend items needed by customers to increase customer satisfaction and improve transaction profitability;
    • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering promotional sale items;
    • Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction;
    • Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed;
    • Communicate any issues with delivery to the customer in a timely manner;
    • Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints;
    • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members;
    • Communicate to the purchasing department unexpected increases or decreases in demand for products;
    • Assist in scheduled physical inventory counts;
    • Assist Territory Sales Managers with gathering samples, brochures, writing orders, and providing leads;
    • Perform other required tasks as assigned.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or equivalent required;
    • Some knowledge of the building industry is preferred;
    • Must present a positive and professional appearance;
    • Excellent communication skills are a must;
    • Ability to demonstrate high level of customer focus
