Job Description: The FPGA Engineering Intern at RefleXion will have conduct simulations and verifications of FPGA IP blocks at the direction of senior engineers in the EE team. The intern may also be tasked to design simple IP blocks under the supervision of senior engineers in the EE team. Roles and Responsibilities: This position has responsibility to assist in the delivery of top quality FPGA solution required to meet overall radiotherapy product requirements. This includes: Brainstorming and analysis of potential innovations in performance, architecture and timing reliability of FPGA IP blocks Assist in designing and functional simulations of IP blocks in VHDL Work closely with board design engineers on IO pin assignments, power-up sequences, and FPGA-versus-Board functional optimization Assist in completing test protocols, conduct FPGA verification and generating test reports to support a 510(k) submission and FDA clearance Support and assist in the development of efficient and high quality FPGA build processes Skill/Job Requirements: Candidate of Bachelors , Masters or PhD/ScD degrees in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering Strong Electrical Engineering fundamentals by demonstrating knowledge or experience in areas such as digital logic designs and analog/digital interfaces Course work or project work experience in SerDes or in high-speed FPGA designs using Verilog, SystemVerilog or VHDL. Strong ability to isolate and debug hardware problems to the component level. This can be demonstrated by hands-on experience with test equipment such as logic analyzer, oscilloscope, DVM and Ohmmeter Attention to detail and a proven track record of taking projects to completion Excellent communication (written, oral), presentation and documentation skills Dedication and determination to get through challenging problems A passion for creating robust and reliable product
