Qualifications
- Electrical, mechanical, or mechanic disciplines or equivalent work experience.
- Refrigeration (EPA Universal Card)
- Basic understanding of PLC Controls including ladder logic.
- Familiarity and use of test equipment.
- Familiarity and use of hand tools.
- Independent troubleshooting of complex mechanical and refrigeration systems
- Plumbing, braising and soldering skills.
- Knowledge of local building codes.
- Flexible, courteous, friendly and positive approach.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and compliance schematics.
- Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment.
- Computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office)
Education and Experience:
- Degree or Certificate from approved two-year college or technical school in related field, five years related experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Previous experience as a refrigeration technician.
- Refrigeration certification.
- EPA 608 and OSHA 10.
- Satisfactory completion of additional background screening.
Physical Requirements:
- Field work is often around near medium/heavy construction and/or cleanroom environments. May be exposed to loud machinery or equipment and hazardous materials. Must wear PPE and follow safety requirements.
- Able to independently coordinate/perform the installation of complex, structural capital equipment.
- Able to assemble complex, often large, mechanical assemblies. Capability to access confined spaces, such as attics, crawl spaces, and mechanical rooms. Fine motor skills for handling tools and equipment. Hand-eye coordination for tasks such as operating controls and using diagnostic equipment.
- Able to perform manufacturing processes such as brazing, welding, etc.
- Independently able to decipher electrical, mechanical, and process flow schematics.
- Able to read instrumentation and gauges for measurement purposes. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Endurance to stand, walk, and work for extended periods.
- Working at heights often involves navigating uneven surfaces, narrow platforms, and potentially unstable environments. Strong balance and coordination are crucial to prevent falls.
- Work environment is 90% in the field at customer facilities.
- Internal manufacturing floor contains mobile equipment, machinery, steam, high voltages, welding.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
- Travel is approximately 90% to customer locations (including potential international, however most travel is in the tri-state area and in the East as required by customer needs).
- Must be able to work multiple/varying shifts to support business needs.
