As a Regional CDL Driver, you will play an important role in keeping freight moving safely and on schedule while representing the company with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
Drive a tractor trailer on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver to various shippers and receivers.
Complete all routes safely in accordance with company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure services and duties are executed according to preferred work methods and customer service practices.
Perform required safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor, truck, and trailer, and report safety issues or repair needs.
Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and immediately report safety hazards.
Inspect trailers to confirm freight is properly loaded and secured, perform count checks, review customer invoices, and complete required paperwork accurately and legibly.
Deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route delivery schedule.
Ensure the tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured at all times.
Keep trailers free of trash and debris after each delivery.
Complete daily hours-of-service records and logs in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Experience
3-12 months of commercial driving experience
Required Qualifications
High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent
Valid CDL A
Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
Must be 21 years of age
Eligible to work in the United States
Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
Able to communicate with dispatchers about load updates or issues and with mechanics regarding updates or issues with the tractor or trailer
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems (i.e. POD)
Customer service-related work experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
