CONTRACT TO PERM ROLE: 20-30 HOURS/WEEK DURING CONTRACT TERM TRAVEL WILL BE REQUIRED FOR UPCOMING ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN OCTOBER
Position Overview:
The Regional Development Manager is responsible for driving fundraising initiatives within a designated region, aligning efforts with the organization’s national vision. This role focuses on developing and nurturing relationships with major donors and corporate partners, implementing strategic fundraising campaigns, and ensuring strong donor stewardship. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, a strong understanding in donor cultivation, and the ability to work collaboratively to achieve ambitious revenue goals.
The ideal candidate resides in the Southeast region of the United States for role specific attention and travel. This role will begin with the organization as a contract role. After successful completion of a 120-day introductory period, the candidate will be eligible to become a permanent full-time, exempt employee of IDA with benefits package offered.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate regional fundraising strategies aligned with national goals and vision
Organize and facilitate fundraising campaigns and programs
Develop a Giving Society for high-value donors and provide excellent stewardship
Develop corporate partnerships for workplace giving
Build successful long-term relationships with major donors and companies
Support the execution of national fundraising campaigns at the regional level
Report on regional fundraising performance to the Home Office
Develop and Implement strategic giving profiles for prospective major donors
Collaborate with IDA staff for key campaigns, data, and marketing
Occasional travel may be required
Other duties as assigned
Experience, Skills and Additional Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, business, or related field
Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE), or Certificate in Fundraising Management preferred, but not required
Experience
Fundraising Experience (3-5 years)
Proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, including planning and executing successful campaigns, securing major gifts, caused-based marketing, and developing corporate sponsorships
Experience cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with donors and partners
Experience organizing fundraising events or programs to generate revenue and engagement
Familiarity with databases to track contributions, analyze trends, and manage donor profiles
Developing and executing donor-centric marketing materials
Familiarity with email and text marketing platforms
Working in cross-functional teams or collaborating with colleagues in other departments
Managing budgets for fundraising initiatives, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effectiveness
Familiarity with ethical fundraising standards, donor confidentiality, and legal compliance
Training volunteers or committees involved in fundraising activities
Knowledge of nonprofit 501(c)(3) entities
