    Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Regional Environmental Health and Safety Manager for a manufacturing company in Rochester, NY.

    We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Regional Environmental Health and Safety Manager to lead and manage environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives across three chemical manufacturing facilities in the Northeast region. This role is based in Rochester, NY, with a hybrid work schedule, and includes regular travel to two additional regional sites. The Environmental Manager will ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, while driving continuous improvement in environmental performance.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Lead, direct, and train plant supervision and employees to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations.
    • Support all sustainability initiatives and ensure timely reporting of all sustainability data for the sites.
    • Prepare and submit required environmental reports, including but not limited to SARA, RCRA, EPCRA, RMP, CBS, PBS, and Air Emissions.
    • Negotiate with regulatory agencies to obtain and maintain necessary wastewater and air emission permits.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Waste Management programs.
    • Conduct and support internal/external environmental assessments and audits.
    • Provide support for emergency response planning and training, ensuring readiness and compliance.
    • Oversee the Groundwater Remediation Programs, including system maintenance and regulatory reporting.
    • Deliver RCRA and other regulatory training to site personnel as required.
    • Collaborate with site leadership and corporate EHS teams to align environmental strategies and share best practices.

     

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
    • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in environmental compliance within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
    • Strong working knowledge of EPA, DEC, and other regulatory agency requirements.
    • Experience with air, water, and waste permitting and reporting.
    • Familiarity with Responsible Care®, ISO 14001, or similar environmental management systems.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to travel regionally up to 30%.
    • Professional certifications such as CHMM, QEP, or PE. (highly preferred)
    • Experience with groundwater remediation systems and environmental data management tools. (highly preferred)
    • Demonstrated success in multi-site environmental program management (highly preferred)
  • Compensation
    $120,000-$140,000 per year
